MainStay Cottages has provided lodging in Winter Harbor since 1979 and now welcomes RVs to their waterfront location. Winter Harbor visitors enjoy the "Schoodic section" of Acadia National Park, which offers wooded hiking trails and access to Maine’s rocky shores.
This traditional Maine fishing village invites pedestrians to access the services of a bank, 5&10, gift shops, art galleries, antique sales and a grocery store. Dining options range from casual to upscale with unique seafood menus. Guests can enjoy cooking their own locally caught lobster or savoring a meal prepared by an award-winning chef.
The nightlife begins with an exquisite Downeast sunset, while Schoodic Arts for All offers a range of cultural entertainment throughout the year.
We are uniquely located with the National Park in our backyard, Petit Manan’s Federal Wildlife Refuge in Steuben, Frenchman’s Bay Conservancy trails, the Sunrise Trail and the State of Maine’s Donnell Pond Public Reserve only 15 minutes away. These parks offer varied public access to Maine’s landscapes, lakes and mountains. Freshwater swimming, golf, bike and kayak rentals are minutes away. Day trips are easily planned for Mount Desert Island, Fort Knox and Campobello; Roosevelt’s summer home.

The second floor of the 150 year old boathouse has been remodeled to offer a one-bedroom Maine experience for travelers, who wish a departure from the predictable hotel room. The building extends over the water on pilings and the deck brings you an opportunity to view the native seabirds, watch the sailboat races from the neighboring yacht club or wait for a harbor seal to emerge from the water to do their own observations of new guests on their shorefront. The boathouse is fully equipped for cooking, has a comfy queen sized bed, shower, linens and a living area that offers a view of the flames from the gas fireplace after the sun goes down. AC
Rate: $140.00 per night.
Ledgelawn is perched on the outcropping of ledge that separates the ocean from our home. The deck overlooks Pearl’s attempt at a perennial flower garden with unobstructed views of the cove. There is a queen bed, day bed and a cot that easily accommodates a family of four. The bath has a shower and a washer/dryer. The cottage is equipped with cooking utensils and linens.
Rate: $165.00 per night.
This one room Maine cottage by the sea is done in cedar on the in-side and out. A heat pump /AC is available, if needed and the bathroom has a shower. Linens and kitchen equipment included.
